Allan Klinge, Vice President of Klinge Corporation will serve on a panel at LogiChem, Europe’s only conference dedicated to “supply chain as a business enabler”.
Welcome to Our Blog
Klinge Corporation will be participating in LogiChem, North America’s leading event for chemical logistics and supply chain professionals. The two-day conference will address supply chain challenges including increased production and government regulations and will discuss best practices around supply chain integration, logistics strategy, metrics, and 3PL management.
Held from 3-4 November 2014 in Philadelphia, LogiChem is attended by executives and senior managers from leading chemical companies including Bayer MaterialScience, Nova Chemical, and Arkema as well as government officials from the US Environmental Protection Agency, National Transportation Safety Board, and the Federal Railroad Administration.
Participants will hear from leading executives that will provide strategies for reducing risk through supply chain resilience, improving forecasting accuracy, and making inventories leaner. The conference will include roundtables, panel discussions, keynote addresses, and networking opportunities.
Special Dual Refrigerated Containers mitigate risk
Klinge Corporation will be presenting their Dual Refrigerated Containers that are specially designed for the chemical manufacturing industry. The containers have two reefer units, providing primary and back-up refrigeration for extra protection of valuable and temperature-sensitive chemicals.
The Dual Refrigerated Containers are available with additional fail-safes, including an integral generator set for back-up power, temperature recorder, and satellite communication system for remote monitoring of temperatures and other data.
Klinge Corporation made its first sale to the chemical industry nearly 30 years ago to meet the demand for a safe transport solution for organic peroxides, which are extremely volatile and exothermic (i.e. will combust if not properly cooled).

Cost effective intercontinental shipping relies heavily on oceanic vessels, which in turn use a variety of shipping containers to streamline the process. Standardization of sizing allows transport ships to plan and store the maximum amount of cargo per voyage. Since its inception in the 1950s, Intermodal container shipping implemented by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) became the most popular method for transporting large cargo. Oceanic vessels designed for cargo transport are designed based on the amount of containers they hold.
Klinge Corp will be exhibiting at the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA) Annual Forum this week. The company will be educating participants on how their Dual Refrigeration Systems comply with United Nations’ regulations on the transport of certain Dangerous Goods.
Klinge Corporation was selected by the conference organizer for Intermodal Europe to discuss innovations in refrigeration technology for the shipment of hazardous goods. Allan Klinge, Senior Project Manager, will be discussing the following key issues:
• The impact of improper transport of hazardous goods: Cargo Loss, Vessel Damage and Crew Safety
• Review of the IMDG regulations for marine transport of hazardous goods, the different classes of these goods, and additional safety measures (beyond the scope of the IMDG code) for intermodal transport
• Cutting edge new solutions – ATEX Directive Explosion-Proof Refrigeration Systems and Dual Refrigeration Systems
